On Saturday 18/12 Mr. Markio returns to Imbarchino for the second Sunday Brew Session, for a night loaded with cosmic atmospheres, space odysseys and cinematic funk. Alessandro Paiola, aka Larry Manteca, will be the special guest of the night. Born in 1976 in Milan (Italy), he’s always been obsessed with the 1970s and in 2012 he starts producing 70s-inspired instrumentals. After publishing his first productions on YouTube his music gains some visibility among 70s music lovers, leading him to continue with his production. He later started producing EPs and albums together with a group of musicians formed by himself. His works are influenced by different genres: funk, afrobeat, cool and etno jazz. Space Love is his latest album, released in 2020. Manteca describes it as “a tribute to science fiction movies through time and space. Sounds that take you immediately back to old black-and-white films, passing by the Golden Age of soundtracks from the 60s and 70s, to eventually get to the synthetic sound in Carpenter’s movies from the early 80s”.
