Music for Planet Earth x Moon Festival
RADIO BANDA LARGA | Picks from the archive
RBL presents RBL Torino Monthly Digest, the new column dedicated to a round-up of the best shows from the past month. Every month you’ll find a selection of contents gathered in three sections: one introducing new shows, one dedicated to guests and special mixes and, eventually, a list of special shows selected by RBL just for you.
In December RBL Torino welcomed two new monthly radio shows: Risonanze and Comfort Zone. The first one is hosted by Veronica Pacella and it’s about sound conceived as a traveling vibration that relates man with Nature and Cosmos; the second one, hosted by Paola and Marilivia, gifts us an hour of peace of mind on Tuesday morning with lots of r’n’b, soul music and positive grooves.

In December we had the pleasure to host Oleno – invited by the collective from Turin ‘Amphibia’ – and Rabih Beaini. Oleno’s music selection alternates ambient patterns and breakbeat sounds, influenced by his experience in England, where he has lived since 2012.
Rabih Beaini – Lebanese-born producer, DJ and founder of the music label Morphine Records –, who has explored the nether-regions of the techno underworld since the 90s, brought his selection of unique and experimental live features to the Imbarchino of Valentino on occasion of the second RBL Live Listening Session – you can listen to it again here.
Rispel Raspel w/ Kvittkvitt
A selection of 52 songs (for 52 weeks) curated by Stipei Johnson together with his friend Kvittkvitt for the very last mix of the year. Kvittkvitt did the December mix, but #staytuned because Stipei Johnson is going to make another mix with the same 52 songs in January.
Bear Says w/ Mad Miran
On December 18th Bear Says invited Dutch dj and selector Mad Miran as a guest. Since 2018 Mad Miran has deejayed in different clubs and festivals all over Europe and in December 2021 she passed by Turin, where she pleased us with a mix of dubstep, bass and electro sounds. Her motto is “genres are disturbing. I play vibes” – find out what she means. (Electronic Beats 2019).
Akwaaba Radio Show w/ Jackie
In its first December episode, Milan based collective Akwaaba – meaning “welcome” in Ghanaian – welcomed Jackie, DJ and selector bound to the Milanese independent music label Hundebiss Records. Jackie walked the steps of the show with a two-hour-mix of freestyle, among experimental music, free jazz and industrial.
Pizzakebab w/ Stefania Vos b2b Virginia W
In December, Stefania Vos invited Virgina W – DJ, radio host on Radio Raheem and event planner in Milan for Spiritual Sauna, and author for different magazines – for an hour of back to back only made exclusively of unlikely and obscure remixes of pop classics from the 90s and early 2000s.
Diggin’ South w/ Chocolate & Cream
The monthly appointment dedicated to music from the four corners of the globe hosted Chocolate & Cream, a collective committed to the exploration and disclosure of contemporary and past Afro music genres. For the whole episode we’ve wondered what our parents used to dance to. If you wonder about it too, (re)listen to the episode’s podcast.
