On Sunday December 5th RBL is happy to welcome veteran dj and selector Rabih Beaini for the second live listening session at Imbarchino del Valentino and live on RBL.MEDIA.
Rabih Beaini is a producer and DJ from Lebano, formerly known as Morphosis. As Morphosis, Beaini has explored the nether-regions of the techno underworld since the 90s. Settled in Italy since 1996, he has started experimenting in the studio. In 2011 he released his debut LP, What Have We Learned. His two most recent albums, Albidaya on Lebanese label Annihaya and Dismantle/Music For Vampyr on Honest Jon’s, follow his critically acclaimed first work.
The genuinely talented DJ manages to create inventive, dark and emotional productions as well as immersive DJ sets. These influences find their way in Beaini’s productions with the Upperground Orchestra, where a multi-headed
ensemble explores different music genres: from electronica to improvisational jazz.
His own label, Morphine Records, released a forward-thinking selection of techno from the likes of Madteo, Hieroglyphic Being, and Anthony “Shake” Shakir. In 2014, the label released the most comprehensive retrospective
trilogy of works by US-based improviser and Buchla synth master Charles Cohen, entering a new era.
