On Wednesday 12th January 2022, RBL starts its live radio shows from a new international hub: Kaņepes Kultūras Centrs, the cultural center that hosts RBL in the Latvian capital of Riga.
The live shows from the new RBL’s hub will go on air with the shows Visvaldis and Soundays – both formats born inside KKC, now tailored for being radio shows. The first one is named after its conductor, Visvaldis – a wise music admirer who likes to share his knowledge –, who, once a month, offers a glimpse into his musical taste from all around the globe, ranging from jazz to electronic music. The second one is a series of musical listening sessions, organized every Sunday at KKC by the two DJs and longtime friends, Andrejs Eigus (Uncle Sampl3, Shelffish) and Rodion Zolotarjovs (Uncle Rodion), who are going to unwrap new sounds and vinyls both literally and emotionally, delivering exciting new vibes.
Kanepes cultural center is an active and creative community of 32 people that organizes cultural and musical events in Riga. Kaņepes Kultūras centrs is also a bar, that’s been a prominent player in Riga’s nightlife for nine years, but it is, first of all, a space exceptionally created for having conversations and feeling free to express ideas and thoughts
